Watch Online as Kiteboard 4 Cancer brings top tier athletes together to raise money for cancer survivors
For 18 years, Kiteboard 4 Cancer has brought top tier athletes together to raise money for cancer survivors. This weekend, Hood River will come together to celebrate the event, headlined by a six-hour endurance kiteboard race. It’s a big deal in the world of kiteboarding, especially as Hood River is considered to be the birthplace of kiteboarding.
If you can’t attend, however, don’t despair. With help from Blue Mountain Networks complimentary high speed internet service, the event will also be streamed online at kb4c.org with lap times available on e8timing.com.
“We’re super stoked to have internet from Blue Mountain,” KB4C Announcer Grom Gormley said. “We’re streaming the whole race online, as well as the results. Our trackers connect online so people can see the whole race online in its entirety.”
Blue Mountain Networks is proud to sponsor the event and will be providing free internet to the organization throughout the weekend, as it has done since the beginning, back when the company was GorgeNet.
“We feel like it’s a great cause,” said Dan Bubb, former owner of GorgeNet and current CEO of Blue Mountain Networks. “A lot of us have been impacted by cancer personally, and so being able to help an event that supports cancer survivors is really great, really important. We’ve been doing it since the beginning, and we want to keep doing that.”
All proceeds from the event will go to Project Koru, a local organization that aims to empower cancer survivors through outdoor adventures and community. For more information, visit projectkoru.org.
